Dr. Cristina Skrypnyk is a distinguished Senior Consultant Medical Geneticist with extensive expertise in the evaluation, diagnosis, testing, and management of genetic and genomic disorders. Holding a Ph.D. in Medical Genetics and European Board certification in Medical Genetics and Genomics, she has undergone advanced international postgraduate training in cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics, genetic and genomic counseling, nutrigenomics, pharmacogenomics, and functional medicine. A member of several prestigious international genetic societies, Dr. Skrypnyk also serves as an expert member of the WHO Collaborative Global Network for Rare Disorders. She is a strong advocate for ethical medical practice and is deeply committed to raising public awareness about genetic knowledge. Her approach emphasizes personalized, integrative genomic medicine to enhance health, prevent disease, and promote quality aging. Dr. Skrypnyk is actively engaged in medical genetics research and is a dedicated volunteer supporting international organizations for genetic disorder patients. She is the founder of the Rare Disease Movement in Bahrain, which has spearheaded public awareness campaigns each February since 2013. With a profound dedication to education, Dr. Skrypnyk has extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training and empowers students to achieve their goals, build meaningful careers, and contribute to transforming their communities. Her unwavering commitment to advancing genetics, serving patients, and fostering education makes her a distinguished figure in the field of medical genetics and genomics.
Professor Ghufran Ahmed Jassim is a Professor of Family Medicine at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain. She is an internationally recognized researcher with expertise in women’s health, cancer screening, medical education, preventive medicine, and health services research. Her work has focused on breast and cervical cancer, hereditary cancer genetics, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the psychological impact of cancer, with publications in leading journals including the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, BMJ Open, and BMC Cancer.
Professor Jassim has led numerous national and international research collaborations across the Gulf region and has played a key role in translating research evidence into healthcare policy and practice. In addition to her research portfolio, she is actively involved in curriculum innovation, clinical education, and the integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare and medical training.

Dr. Hawazen Rawas completed her PhD in Cardiac Diseases Nursing (Cardiac Rehabilitation) from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, in 2015, where she also earned her Master of Science in Nursing. She later obtained a Master of Medical Education from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in 2018.
Dr. Rawas currently serves as Associate Professor and Director of the Nursing Department at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. She has extensive leadership experience in nursing education, curriculum development, quality assurance, accreditation, and competency-based program design, and has led the development of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs.
She also serves as Chairperson of the Cardiac Diploma Examination Committee at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and has contributed to the Saudi Nursing Licensure Examination since 2017.
Dr. Rawas has published extensively in national and international journals, with research interests focusing on acute and critical care nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, nursing education, simulation, evidence-based practice, and healthcare quality improvement.

Dr. Mohamed Belhocine is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Molecular Medicine Department at Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. He holds a PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics and an MSc in Bioinformatics, Genomics and Structural Biochemistry from Aix-Marseille University, France, with earlier training in cell and molecular biology and microbiology.
His expertise bridges genomics, bioinformatics, molecular medicine, and computational biology, with a strong focus on the application of large-scale genomic and epigenomic approaches to understand disease mechanisms, particularly in cancer, leukemia, immune cell development, rare diseases, and precision medicine. He has extensive experience in next-generation sequencing analysis, including whole-genome, whole-exome, targeted sequencing, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, DNA methylation, metagenomics, and clinical NGS interpretation.
Dr. Belhocine has worked in leading research and clinical environments in France and the UAE, including the Center of Immunology Marseille-Luminy, Necker Hospital Paris, TAGC Marseille, and the Molecular Biology and Genomics Center in Dubai. His current research integrates bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and multi-omics data analysis to support biomarker discovery, molecular diagnosis, and personalized medicine. He is also actively involved in postgraduate education, research supervision, and the development of training programs in genomics and bioinformatics.

Dr. Nawal Alhamar is a Consultant Body Imaging Radiologist with over 20 years of experience in diagnostic radiology. She graduated from the Arabian Gulf University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Basic Medical Sciences and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. She completed a four-year residency training program in Diagnostic Imaging at Salmaniya Medical Complex and is certified by the Arab Board of Health Specializations.
To further advance her subspecialty expertise, Dr. Alhamar completed a two-year Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Body Imaging at the National University Hospital in Singapore.
Dr. Alhamar served as Head of the Radiology Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex from January 2019 to August 2024. In September 2024, she joined the University Medical Center at King Abdullah Medical City as a full-time Consultant Radiologist and Head of Radiation Protection.
Her expertise encompasses a broad range of body imaging applications, with particular focus on oncologic, emergency, and trauma imaging. She has special interests in hepatobiliary and pancreatic imaging, CT colonography, and MR enterography.
Dr. Alhamar is also the co-founder of The Lightbox Teleradiology, the first Bahraini teleradiology company, reflecting her commitment to advancing innovative radiology services and improving access to expert imaging interpretation.

Tim is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He is an alumnus of Oxford and Cambridge Universities with a PhD from the University of Nottingham.
He has worked as a consultant for more than 20 years, during which he has held a range of leadership roles including Clinical Lead for IT, Director of Service Development and Deputy Medical Director.
He has always believed in the potential of technology to improve healthcare and has been the Clinical Lead for numerous IT projects in the last 15 years. He was pivotal in establishing the Somerset Liver Improvement Project. In 2020 he was awarded a major NIHR Innovation Grant which led to the establishment of Predictive Health Intelligence (where he has the role of Medical Director) and the development of unique case-finding software for liver patients – hepatoSIGHT.
He is now leading the role out of this technology in the UK National Health Service, currently focussing on hospitals in the South West.
